Five rules

Senior by default

Every matter is led by a partner and staffed by a lawyer you will meet. No pyramids, no hand-offs you cannot see.

Plain language

We write documents that the people signing them can read, and explain the ones that cannot be simplified.

Scope before work

We agree what the work is, what it takes and what it costs before it begins, and tell you when that changes.

Independent advice

We have no commercial relationships that could bend our advice, and we say so when a matter is better placed elsewhere.

Fewer matters

We take on fewer matters than we could, so that each one gets close and continuous attention.

Listen

We start with what you are building and what worries you about it, before any documents are opened.

Step 2

Frame

We restate the problem in a page, with the options and the trade-offs, so decisions can be made quickly.

Step 3

Decide

You choose; we recommend. Where the answer is not clear, we say how confident we are.

Step 4

Document

We draft only what is needed, in language that matches the decision, and stay for the signature.
